Where I'd like the server to go to

Hello Galaxy-Crafters,

Now with the map reset in progress I see a sea of oppertunities to change certain things of the server, and these are my ideas of where I would like the server to go to.

I think the economic player interaction is at a all time low at this server. At a social level it is still very fun, talk with people about all kinds of nonsence xD. But when you want to make progress on a technological scale, you don't need to talk to players at all. I think the economy kind of failed. I think this is mostly due to the fact that the server is just too easy. If, for example, it was way harder to make power, some people would likely start specializing in making power and selling it to other players who need power. These players would need a source of money for this power, and will specialize in something other players need. For example mining ores and gems and dusts that they can sell, for example, to the players who make power. And with the money they earn, they can sustain their own money source, and do fun stuff they want to do. This way there is way more interaction on the server.
Now I don't mean this has to be as strict as this example, only making power could get quite boring, but it is just an example.

The pvp... yep, I absolutely hate it, I disgust it xD. This might be due to my server history, but the pvp rule always made me stay inside of my base and make my base very secure. And when I would go visit someone, I would always save my precious tools in my alchemic bag, where they are safe. But why is this pvp encourgement rule still here xD. Because everyone knows each other, there is very few pvp going on, but an evil person still has the power to ruin someones day. Can this rule please disappear xD.

I like the idea of making tech and power generation more difficult to promote trade. I'll look into this with brain later. In regard to your reference to a PvP encouraging rule, which one are you referring to?

Well I can't find any list of official rules right now, but I believe they are stored in a command in the server? /rules or something. Isn't there a rule that says any random pvp is allowed?

I agree that random pvp is not fun. However, I have to say that one of the most compelling aspects of any game can be competition, within bounds, of course.

I think it would be cool to implement a customized faction system that discourages random pvp with penalties but encourages concerted competition through something like faction warring for land and resources which will be much more lucrative with a smaller map and harder tech progression. For instance, if you kill a player from another faction you aren't at war with there is a severe penalty to your power, however, the opposite occurs if it is against a faction your at war with.

In the case of a player not in any faction being attacked it might be possible to inflict the murder penalty when the attack occurs outside of the aggressor's faction land or something.

Obviously all us are pretty much disinclined to attack anyone else which is nice for sure. The above is merely a suggestion for how it would work if we had an influx of newbies. Even between ourselves I think the faction play would be an interesting twist. It would allow for things like trading land or assets in exchange for machs or something.
